ABOUT

KELTON

Hello, I’m Kelton. At 22 years old, I hail from Bristol, England, and I’d like to share a bit about my journey.

I started motocross at just 2 years old, before I even learned to ride a bicycle. My first bike was a PW50, and I would zip around the garden with stabilisers attached. Every morning before primary school, I used to ride; otherwise, I would insist to my mum that I wasn’t going to school.

When I turned 5, I began racing locally, participating in club and schoolboy events until I reached 10. Then, I took on National Championships, including the "British Youth Championship," the "Red Bull Championship," and the "GT Cup." I certainly wasn’t a standout talent back then; my focus was on enjoying the sport and improving my skills.

Becoming a professional motocross racer was always my biggest aspiration. I immersed myself in everything motocross-related, watching all the MXGPs, AMA Supercross, and AMA Motocross races.

Around the age of 13, I traveled to the Netherlands to buy a bike from a KTM shop and experience some of Europe’s top sand tracks. There, I had the opportunity to connect with the shop owner. Shortly after, my dad started searching for a trainer to help me reach my potential and pursue my dreams. The shop owner recommended his son, who was a trainer, and my dad was eager to move forward. So, at 14, I spent a couple of weeks training with him and enjoyed it so much that I found it hard to leave.

My dad’s unwavering belief in me gave me the chance to turn motocross into my life. A few months later, I moved to the Netherlands at age 14 to live with my dad and train daily to improve.

Since then, I’ve developed significantly, racing in the European Championship (EMX) across various classes to climb the ranks. In 2022 and 2023, I competed in the EMX250 class to gain experience on tracks at the world championship level.

At the beginning of the 2024 season, I set my sights on the Dutch Championship, aiming to participate in 1 or 2 MXGPs if possible. As the season progressed, I started to improve, and my aspirations began to feel more attainable. In mid-August, I made my MX2 World Championship debut at the MXGP of Arnhem.

With my small team pushing for my growth and experience in the MX2 class, we tackled the final two rounds of the World Championship in Europe: one in Turkey and another in Spain. The last round in Spain was a highlight, as I achieved my best result of the short MX2 season, finishing in P19 and securing 2 World Championship points.

Looking ahead, I plan to compete in the European rounds of the MX2 World Championship, which includes 15 different events, as well as participate in the Dutch Masters, the National Championship of the Netherlands.
